Blend Club XL: Where AI, Art and Humanity Intersect
Earlier this June, I had the honour of exhibiting several of my AI-generated artworks at Blend Club XL, the 2025 VRT arts and networking festival hosted by VRT Cultuur and Team Diversity & Inclusion.
Though I couldn’t be there in person, I felt truly present in absence — thanks to the care with which my story and work were shared, and the generous attention of those who paused to engage with it.
A space for silent voices
Tucked away in a serene studio beside VRT’s vibrant Studio 5, visitors encountered my collection in an intimate setting. With headphones, they could listen to the voice-over telling the story of my artistic journey and the purpose behind The ALS Art Initiative.
For me, art is not just a form of expression — it is survival. And at Blend Club XL, it became a bridge: between silence and speech, technology and emotion, body and spirit.
The works on display
Five artworks were part of the exhibition:
- Infinita in Minimis — a meditative homage to stillness and the infinite within the smallest.
- The River Knows — on connection, place, and the wisdom of generations.
- Echoes of a Bohemian Soul — an intimate tribute to unconventional beauty and presence.
- The Bamboo Does Not Break — about feminine strength, resilience and surrender without defeat.
- ALS Constrictor — a raw visual metaphor of life with ALS: tight, relentless, but never broken.
Each piece was shown as a limited edition, digitally certified fine art print. But more than that — each one contributes directly to ALS research through The ALS Art Initiative, where all proceeds support scientific progress.
Gratitude from afar
The feedback I received after the event moved me deeply. People wrote about how they were touched by the emotional honesty of the work, and surprised by how AI-generated art could feel so personal, so human.
That my pieces were included in a vibrant, cross-disciplinary program like this felt like recognition — not just of my journey, but of the potential for technology to serve creativity, inclusion, and care.
As one guest so beautifully put it (about the event):
“You didn’t pretend to have all the answers, but you chose to be a beacon of trust. Of humanity.”
Looking forward
I’m deeply thankful to the VRT team, to MINO Art Space, and to everyone who stopped, listened, and felt something in that small room. Your attention gives breath to my images.

Creativity knows no limitation. Only direction.
And my direction is clear: to create art that connects, stirs, and gives something back.

Dag Alain,
Groetjes❤️
